I have never owned one of these devices. I have a question about them. They say the batteries will last 16hrs or 20hrs depending on which model you buy. Can this be extended by enabling a breadcrumb feature of some kind? I go on 5-7 day hiking and canoe trips and I'm usually moving 10hrs each day. Is there way I can put it on standby to only pole coordinates every 15 minutes to save the battery?

Hi, I am not sure that can be done. You can always take more batteries as they take two standard AA batteries, that way you won't have to worry about it losing power. We also sell solar powered chargers which can be used to charge the device up when you are not near a power supply. But to be honest taking extra batteries is best (rechargable preferably)
